Another year, another torturous visit to see the Easter Bunny. As always, the kids were freaking out when they saw the crazy bunny, but the big difference this year was that after significant bribery (toys, food, and no bath) Aaron convinced Waylon to smile for the photo. Avalon could not be similarly swayed. She kept hiding her head in my shoulder, saying, "I shy...I shy." What follows is a creepy photo that involves Waylon happily smiling next to E.B. while Avalon looks tortured. I actually miss the time when they both cried in horror. There's always next year!

Look at Waylon's glee, thinking about all of the loot he gets if he smiles for this photo. Not so much from Avalon.
A colleague recently told me that for college admissions kids need to write about adversity they have had to overcome. Perhaps one day my kids will write about their painful visits to see the Easter Bunny.
