On May 6, 2011 my dear friend, Joanne Kline, passed away after a year long struggle with brain cancer. It is hard to describe how much I miss her, and how surreal it is to have lost a peer. She was one of the funniest humans that I have ever met. Further evidence that only the good die young. A few weeks after her passing, friends and family gathered in Marin and San Francisco to say goodbye. In true Gaucho rowing style, her former teammates and coaches turned it into a party--although incredibly bittersweet.
Welcome to the Davis Family Blog. This blog was created just a few days after the birth of our son, Waylon, in February 2006. As if things weren't hectic enough, we added a baby sister, Avalon, in December 2007. Life with two kids is never dull. This blog is my own personal sounding board, and the closest thing to a baby book that these kids are likely to have. Thanks for visiting! Anna, Aaron, Waylon & Avalon

Little Miss Thang
Avalon has is so bossy, smart, hilarious, outgoing, crazy, and manipulative--she is hard to describe. She drives us absolutely mad, but also makes our heart melt. I joked the other day that if we kicked her out of the house, I have no doubt at 3 1/2 she would be just fine. Seriously, this kid is an old soul, and is clearly annoyed that her parents are in charge purely by accident of having brought her into the world. Here are few photos of our little princess.
Ballerina
I bought this used ballerina costume at the dance studio when I was there for a workout. Avalon loved showing off in it! She is such a handful, but I must admit that I love the girly moments like this one!
