Reed's Birthday Train Trip

A few days after Christmas we had a wonderful excuse to see friends for Reed's 3rd birthday party.  Several families met at the train station in San Clemente for a ride to Ruby's Diner in San Juan Capistrano.  It was a birthday hit!!!  Reed's mommy, Trisha, is amazing pulling it off while juggling a newborn and heading back to work.

Santa brought the kids matching shirts, which was a first for them.  I love seeing them in matching clothes!!!
Not sure what he was trying to do to her, but it does not look like Baby Sister was going to comply.
Paige and Avalon cruised on the train to SJC.
Reed, Landon, and Waylon loved watching the scenery zoom by during the trip.
Ruby's Diner is always a hit!

Christmas Dinner with the Husbands Family

A wonderful Christmas Day was topped off with a perfect dinner with friends.  In addition to the Davis/McMorrow families, we were joined by the Husbands family and Kerri's parents.  With 3 sets of grandparents, 2 sets of parents, and 4 kids, it was a full house, which is what I love for the holidays.  I did a bad job of getting photos, but at least you can see the kids having fun as everyone pulled together a HUGE meal with lots of drinks and laughs.  A fantastic topper to a great day!

Avalon and Jamo enjoy the tire swing.
Is that Princess Tiana?  Sometimes Christmas gifts are too good to take off.
Julian was on swing pushing duty.  That may be the roughest holiday chore of all!
Avalon and Kylie check out the new toys.
 Merry Christmas kiddos!!!

Christmas Morning Madness

I realize Christmas was almost four months ago.  The upside about waiting so long to write is that I will be brief (I have a short memory).  Christmas was truly "in the air" this year.  The kids were beyond excited on Christmas Eve, and were about to come out of their skin on Christmas morning.  Since Nana and Tom stayed here, they were up early for the kids to come downstairs, and I think Tom may have been the most excited.  Lets just say he was a very involved Elf the night before.  The kids were a bit overwhelmed by all of the gifts, but we all had fun.

 Iron Man in his stocking!
The art supplies from Santa were a big hit!

Avalon protects her new light saber from her curious brother.
Avalon was disappointed when she realized the stocking was empty.
 Enjoying the new doll house.
Santa heeded Waylon's request for a Lego Fireboat, and threw in a Lego helicopter.  Lucky boy!
Tom helped the kids figure out what each gift was, and how it worked.
Nana helps inspects loot from Santa.
Waylon liked the doll house as much as Avalon (if not more).
After enjoying gifts from Santa, we moved into the living room and were joined by Grandpa Ed, Grandma Josephine, Uncle Matt and Erin Rae.  As the only two grandkids and only niece/nephew, they got everything they could have asked for...and more.

 Avalon and Erin Rae.
Waylon stops for a Christmas morning snuggle.
Two popular gifts:  Lego fireboat and stuffed Yoda.
Avalon cruised around quite a bit with her new shopping cart.  If only she could really help mommy out with the shopping!
