Instead of having a big party this year, we chose to celebrate the big zero-four with the Husbands family in San Diego. Due to Amtrak budget cuts the boys & daddy's train ride to SD was a flop, but the kids didn't seem to mind. We started at the model train museum, which was a big hit. We then went to the hotel, which thrilled Waylon. He loved jumping on the beds in the "apartment." We had a great dinner out, which was as crazy as you can imagine with 2 four-year-olds, a two-year-old, and a twenty-month-old. We had a great time and the parents spent a lot of time toasting the fact that we survived four years as parents. The next day we headed to Legoland, which gets four big thumbs ups, and the finale of Waylon's birthday gifts was that we purchased season passes.

Jamison, Kiley, Waylon, and Avalon loved the model train museum. I think Jamison is still trying to talk his parents into moving into the museum (with the crazy old men that were working on all of the models).
I realize this post should be all about the birthday boys, Waylon and Jamison. However, Avalon and Kiley stole the show all weekend. They were so cute, insisting on holding hands all day. These two girls just love each other!

Waylon and daddy inspect the trains.

Kiley and Kerri.

This room was all about kids with lots of buttons to push and fun model trains with cartoon characters.

If there is a bar anywhere around, our little monkey will hang all day. She spent most of her time at the train museum running from pole to pole, hanging like a crazy person.
Kiley, Avalon, Jamison, and Waylon. It only required 457 takes to get this photo. Easy.
The parking trolley was another big hit. Who knew that getting back to your car could be such fun?
More cuteness from the girls.
Had to get a shot of the dinner table. Total mayhem!
The boys were so excited to get their birthday desserts. I wish I could be excited when the waitresses bring me a candle each year.
It took a long time to get the kids to bed. Avalon could not believe she got to share a room with Bubba. He finally got so tired he asked her to be quiet!
Our crew: Kerri, Kiley, Julian, Jamison, Waylon, Aaron, Avalon, and Anna.
Jamison enjoys legos while waiting in line for a ride.
On the storybook boat ride.
This was the only ride that Avalon (our little shorty) could go on. Legoland is super strict about height restrictions so mommy and Avalon had to watch from the sidelines a lot.
The Husbands family go cruising.
The water play area was a big hit with our kids!

Aaron and Waylon had fun (but didn't win) the fire truck race.

The boys patrol in their police helicopter.
The hi light of the day--the pirate boat ride. Waylon enjoyed shooting water out, but was not happy when people watching were able to shoot water back at him.

Avalon was able to crawl around one area that did not have height restrictions. Next time we go we need to get some little girl shoes with lifts.
