4th of July Weekend

We spent a traditional 4th of July weekend with family and friends. It started on Saturday with 2 weddings. Aaron attended his good friend Blair Slattery's marriage to Marissa Sifuentes in Santa Monica. He had a great time and was able to catch up with MANY of his high school buddies, while helping celebrate the marriage of a great couple. Meanwhile, I had a blast at the wedding of two good friends, and former co-workers, Lisa Salazar and Takin Khorram. It was a beautiful wedding and reception in Palos Verdes, and the bonus was that I also got to catch up on office gossip and see many good friends. Unfortunately, we dont have any pictures of the newlyweds. While we were enjoying the weddings, Aaron's parents and brother were babysitting Waylon. They did a great job, and it was the first big night I have had out since Waylon's arrival.

We left for Catalina early Sunday morning (7/2). As before, Waylon did great on the crossing. Later in the weekend, he blew us all away with his ability to sleep through the fireworks and drunk boaters with horns. The weekend was very relaxing, and with such great babysitters around Aaron and I were able to enjoy a hike and time just laying out in the sun. The entire Davis family joined the whole Brilhart family for dinner, and it was quite a challenge to get through a huge sit down meal with 3 kids. Times have definitely changed--this 4th of July was filled with lots of babies.

Waylon slept through the crossing to and from the Island

Waylon hung out (literally!) with Davis Gershon (and his dad, Randall). Waylon and Davis are the two newest members at Fourth of July Yacht Club, and we are predicting lots of hijinx for these two together at the cove in the years to come

Aaron's brother, Matt (left), took us on a death march on Monday. Actually, it was a lot of fun to scale a mountain then check out the insane views of Two Harbors Waylon and I enjoy the King Kamei mei chair at the Harbor Reef restaurant. Ac tually, it appears that I was the only one enjoying it, and Waylon was totally freaked out by the experience.
