Sibling Love

I was worried about A LOT of things when I was pregnant with a second baby, but one of my biggest concerns was how Waylon would react. Much to my shock, he has been very good with Avalon (*knock on lots of wood here*). Initially he was constantly trying to give her kisses and was fascinated with touching her feet, which was the only body part we allowed him to touch. Eventually he got to hold baby sister and loved it. Here he is during his first baby holding session.

Now he crawls on the couch, puts the boppy pillow around his waist and reaches his hands up, indicating that he wants me to let him hold Avalon. One of the first times he held her I tried to take her away and he grabbed on, screaming "MINE! MINE!" It was pretty darn cute even if I was a little scared she'd get hurt. Now he holds her for a few minutes (with Mommy right next to him) and then gives the sign language sign for "all done." Apparently holding baby sister is fun for a few minutes, but doesn't hold his attention as long as rummaging through the kitchen cabinets or stacking mega blocks.

Holding baby sister is so much fun!
Avalon mimics Waylon's sign for "I dont know!"

During a recent family walk, Waylon insisted on pushing baby sister in the double stroller.
