Everyone tells you, "it goes so fast," when they learn you have a baby. While it seems so cliche, we've learned that its totally true. As Waylon is getting older he is changing every day, but not as drastically as he did the first few months. He has been eating solid foods for a month, and his diet now consists of oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash in addition to breast milk four times a day. He is not a huge fan of "solid" foods, but he is getting better and no longer shudders like he just had a tequilla shot with each bite. The bigger news is that Aaron had his first bites of squash this week, and was almost able to hide his "tequilla shot" shudder. Waylon is a pretty happy little guy, and is smiling most of the time. However, he is still not a great napper and by the end of the day he is doing a lot of face pulling, yawning, and can get cranky (as I write this he is screaming in his crib, fighting the third nap of the day). On a positive note, Waylon sleeps through the night. The only problem is trying to time his sleep so that he wakes up right at 6:30am so I can feed him before the nanny comes. I had no idea that a baby's sleep habits will absolutely consume your life and thoughts--with no end in sight. We have really cut back on our outings because its so much easier to get Waylon to nap and sleep well when we are home--not great for our social lives, but much better for our sanity.
As for Waylon's physical developments, he is sitting up really well and still only has 2 teeth. We are expecting the upper teeth to come in soon because he is once again a drool-faucet and constantly bites everything and everyone. Waylon is moving a lot--just not forward. He can roll around like crazy, do 360 circles on his tummy, and pushes backwards. However, no crawling yet, which everyone says is something we should not encourage. Overall, things are going well and we are having fun with our little Bubba.

It may not look like much, but it was a big deal when Waylon could sit up and hold the teether on his own. His fine motor skills are really improving, and he is able to handle small objects well. Plus, mommy and daddy dont have to constantly hold objects for him!

My niece Mackenzie never crawled forward, she just scooted backwards until she started walking. Funny, huh? Maybe Waylon will travel backwards too. He's super cute! You and Aaron are awesome parents!!! (Can you believe we're parents?? - I still can't believe it sometimes!)
