A tree at the kids' preschool is known as the caterpillar tree because it always has tons of caterpillars in the spring. One day Waylon brought one home, and we placed it with plenty of greenery in an insect habitat. It went into a cocoon (very cool!), and I was really into checking on it constantly. Just when I was about to give up, we came home to a butterfly! Its wings were still wet so Waylon was able to get it to sit on his finger. He took it outside, and a few minutes later it flew away. It was awesome!
