NINE MONTHS

It's amazing to think that just now Waylon has been out of my tummy as long as he was in. Crazy! Well, despite our neurotic parenting Waylon seems to be flourishing. At 9 months the doctor had us add meat to his diet, and it may be coincidence but his activity level shot up with the introduction of more food. He's actually much happier as well, leading us to wonder if we had been starving him before this. He is still in the 50th percentile for weight (19.7 pounds) and height (28 inches), and it may be my wishful thinking but he seems to be losing a few rolls here and there.

Waylon's new "skill" is pulling up, which he first did on 11/19 (I am still trying to get a good picture to share). He is pretty good at it now, and can even stand up in his crib! Overall, he is much more active and in addition to the army-crawl-scootch he is also "high crawling" about 25% of the time. As you can imagine, with the increased activity, Waylon tends to bonk his sizeable head a lot. Aaron is very proud that he is toughening up, and doesn't cry nearly as much when he knocks himself in the head or other body parts.

Waylon laughs a lot, and keeps us rolling with his crazy faces and giggles. He can be challenging--especially when a new tooth cuts through, but we're having fun. Of course there always has to be some issues, and Waylon's latest "issue" is stranger and separation anxiety. He has become really upset a hand full of times, and has even had real tears when someone else tries to hold him or Aaron or I leave the room.

This is the inquisitive Waylon look we get a lot these days
Cruising outdoors--Aaron almost had heart failure when I let Waylon crawl around on the cement in the backyard.
Waylon decides that even though he cant read, at 9 months he can make better fantasy football picks than Aaron.

What a doll! And maybe he can outdo Daddy's fantasy football picks -- babies are lucky.
